This story is bout Othello one of the famous character in Shakespeare's play.

In this story Shakespeare criticized bad judgments and envy. It has a tragic end with death of main characters of story.

Desdemona, a beautiful daughter of Brabanito felt in love with Othello, a black man, a Moor[1] of Venice, that was friend of her father. Her father, a rich senator of Venice sometimes invited Othello to his house and Desdemona loved to hear his travels stories, his bravery in wars and how he had risen to rank of general.

Although she had a lot of suggestion to marry she didn't accept any of them. She accepted Othello's suggestion and although Brabanito disagreed with their marriage they privately married together. Othello was charged with magically win Desdemona's love by council and Brabanito.

At this time Venice had need of Othello's services against Turks.

Othello defended himself in the presence of the senators and Desdemona supported his statement. In the end Desdemona begged her father to allow them to marry and council encouraged Brabanito to accept that.

Brabanito called Othello to him with many expression of sorrow, and gave his daughter to him.

Then Othello promised to manage the wars and they (Othello and his wife) went to the island of Cyprus, which was been holding by venetians but Turks wanted to take it back.

Michael Cassio, the best friend of Othello, was a young soldier from Florence. He was bright, good-looking and well-spoken man. Othello employed him as a messenger in his love affair with Desdemona and raised him to a higher rank.

Iago, an older officer, who thought he was better than Cassio, deprecated from Othello's action. He decided to revenge Cassio, Othello and Desdemona.

Cassio often visited Desdemona, they talked and laughed together and Desdemona loved and trusted Cassio after her husband.

Iago knew that the worst pain for a man is envy. He thought if he could make Othello jealous of Cassio it would be a great revenge that might end to death of Cassio or Othello or both.

As soon as Othello's arrival to Cyprus, a storm scattered the Turkish ships and Cyprus celebrate these happenings (Othello's arrival and the scattering of ships).

Cassio was in charge of the guard that night. Othello ordered him to keep soldiers from drinking too much.

Iago persuaded him to drink a lot ( a great fault for an officer on guard). Then Iago encouraged another man to quarrel him. When Othello heard about these happenings arrived himself at that place asked Cassio to explain. Iago explained about that instead of Cassio and he made Cassio's offence appear greater than it was. Then Othello took away Cassio's rank so Iago succeeded in his first plan.

He encouraged Cassio to beg Desdemona to make peace for him with her husband. Desdemona did that and Othello promised to look kindly to his offence but Iago performed the second part of his plan.

He met Othello and talked about relations between Desdemona and Cassio, and suggested Othello to look her behavior carefully when Cassio was near.

Othello merged in a deep thought about Desdemona's treason, but Iago told him there was no guilt in his wife until he found more certain proofs.

Iago made his wife, (Desdemona's servant, a good but weak woman) steal Desdemona's handkerchief and left it where Cassio might find it and took it as a proof that it was apresent from Desdemona and told it to Othello.

For a jealous man, small or unimportant things are strong proofs. This proof was enough for Othello to send both of them to death.

Desdemona, this guiltless wife, when saw his false suspicion of herself confused and got ready to die. She begged for a pity and asked to know her fault and when she was beginning to explain Othello refused to hear any more. He stopped her breathing with bedclothes until she died.

At the same moment, Iago had employed a murderer to kill Cassio. Cassio quarreled with him and found some letter from Iago n man's pockets which showed Iago's guilt and Cassio's innocence.

He came to Othello to inform him about that. This discovery was a great shock to Othello. He understood that his wife had always been faithful to him and he wasn't better than a murderer. He couldn't bear this pain any more, fell himself on his sword, died too.

After that Iago was sent to a painful death and Venetian remembered the sad end of their brave general.
